Rodney HuExecutive Chairman & Director
Rodney Hu is a serial entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in building successful businesses that provide solutions to diverse and underserved communities. His companies and development projects have been valued at over $250 million. In 2011, as a founder of Vital and Territory dispensary group, Rodney’s leadership and vision set the stage for the $2.6 billion recreational cannabis market explosion in Arizona. His efforts resulted in Territory dispensary being awarded one of the first dispensary licenses in the state (2012) and is a model for legislation in other states. In 2021, Territory was sold to Verano (CNSX: VRNO) for $130 million. He is also the co-creator of Grandaddy Genetics along with cannabis pioneer Ken Estes. Between 1996 and 2004, Rodney spent several years at the top firms on Wall Street—including Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns and Cantor Fitzgerald overseeing over $1 billion in assets. In 2009, he also co-founded Arizona’s first distillery, the AZ Distilling Company, and is the owner of the Yucca Tap Room, one of Arizona’s most beloved music venues. Rodney took a small music venue and turned it into a multi-million dollar business. He is currently working with the city of Tempe to complete a $100 million development project that will refurbish the center of the city of Tempe and result in over $100's of millions in new revenue for the city’s businesses.
Dave AugerChief Operating Officer
Since 2012, Dave Auger has owned and operated businesses in the Canadian cannabis industry. He has assisted with the setup and build-out of licensed cannabis facilities throughout North America. Dave led and consulted for numerous cannabis companies, and founded Big League Genetics in 2019, which is involved in providing quality genetics to license holders around the world. Dave has been successful in obtaining controlled substance licenses across Canada and brokering deals in Cannabis across the globe. He is the Founder of My Fungi Inc. and was successful in obtaining one of the first Controlled Substance Dealer's Licenses for the production of organic psychedelic mushrooms. Dave enjoys spending time in the mountains with his wife and dog. He also enjoys snowboarding, golf and whitewater kayaking.
Bryant PikeChief Financial Officer
Bryant Pike has over 20 years of senior financial executive experience. He began his career as a Chartered Accountant specializing in the financial services and entertainment industries with Ernst & Young. Bryant has served as CFO of several publicly traded companies listed on the TSX and TSXV. In addition, he has served as CEO, Director, and senior advisor for multiple go-public transactions with market capitalizations ranging from $50 million to over $1 billion. Combining a diverse industry background that includes the technology sector, media & entertainment, agriculture, and diversified energy, along with his unique experience in M&A, secured financings, and go-public experience, Bryant has supported numerous successful financial transactions, both public and private, throughout his career. Bryant has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia, has a CPA designation, and was awarded the Business in Vancouver Forty under 40 Award (2008).
Beth RiderDirector of Quality Assurance
Beth Rider has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with Pharmaceutical and Forensic Sciences from the University of Bradford, Yorkshire, England (obtained 1996). Over the past 20 years, Beth has held many roles in the international pharmaceutical industry (AstraZeneca - 1996-2007 & Pfizer - 2007-2011) and controlled substances in Canada (2017-Present). She has extensive experience in international regulatory compliance and quality management systems. She is a senior member of the ASQ (American Society for Quality) and has held the ASQ- certified quality auditor accreditation since 2010. From 2011 to 2021 Beth completed over 200 third-party supplier quality audits on behalf of global pharmaceutical companies (including - Merck, Novartis, Bayer, J&J(Janssen). Audits focused on contract manufacturing, component production, supporting services and pharmacovigilance. Beth is a Health Canada- approved Quality Assurance Person (QAP) and Qualified Person In Charge (QPIC) and played a key role in the successful application preparation for two Health Canada cannabis licences (obtained 2018 and 2023) and one controlled substance licence (obtained 2022).
